Principle of electromagnetic induction

The following interactive app explains the principle of electromagnetic induction.

The conductor can be moved interactively with the mouse (or the finger on a touchscreen).

The animation shows a conductive material, which can be moved interactively with the mouse. Depending on the direction of movement of the conductor, the induced electric current flows in different directions.

The direction of movement of the induced current can be observed using the "left-hand rule" or "three-finger rule".

This rule refers to the real (physical) current direction. The animation represents the movement of the load carriers in the technical convention. The current flows technically in the opposite direction.
